The Laboratory for Optical
Physics and Engineering at the University of Illinois is
dedicated to the pursuit of new and efficient sources of visible, ultraviolet
(UV) and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) radiation and
their applications. The Laboratory has a distinguished
history of developing new sources of coherent radiation
with emphasis on the UV, demonstrating novel laser
spectroscopic techniques and development of microcavity
plasma devices and arrays.
